The WordPress Login and Register using JWT plugin allow you to login into the WordPress application using the JWT token(JSON Web token) from any other WordPress site or other applications/platforms.
This plugin also provides a REST API endpoint(/wp-json/api/v1/mo-jwt) by which requesting with the valid username and password in the body returns the JWT token and that token can be used to autologin into the WordPress site.
The plugin can also be extended to register users into WordPress using the JWT token and to achieve many more functionalities like SSO in WordPress using the JWT token provided by an external provider.
Login to WordPress from a mobile or any other platform using user-based JWT token(JSON Web Token):
If a user already logged in to your mobile application and if he/she opens your WordPress site URL in web view then the user can be auto-logged in which is also called Single Sign-On(SSO) there using the plugin’s auto-login functionalities with JWT.
To achieve this you just need to create a JWT token which you can create using our REST API endpoint(/wp-json/api/v1/mo-jwt) and then you can append the JWT token to the redirect URL of your WordPress site. On redirection, the plugin will automatically validate the JWT token(passed as the argument in the URL) and on successful validation, it will log in the user.
Register into WordPress using JWT(JSON web token) from any external platforms:
Suppose if you want to register a user on your WordPress site from another application or external platform then you can pass the new user details like username, profile, email and password(optional), then all these details can be passed into a JWT token more securely and on successful validation of the JWT token, the user can be created/registered in WordPress automatically via JWT token.
- Allows autologin feature into WordPress using JWT token from any other application by just appending the JWT token in parameter(mo_jwt_token) in any WordPress site page/URL.
- Provides HTTP POST REST endpoint to create user-based JWT token using WordPress username/email and password.
- No redirection(remain on same page/URL after autologin) or redirection to the homepage after autologin.
- Restrict auto-login based on email or username.
- Provides REST API Endpoint with POST HTTP method to create a user based JWT token.
